Getting Back In Shape & a $100 Giveaway!!

This is sponsored content from BlogHer and Reebok.
I love the New Year Holiday!  It is such a great way for me to take stock of how the last year went for me.  I fill out my Who Am I Lists, Year In Reviews, as well as my Year In A Glance.
who am iYear In Review or Milestones Plain

I love seeing what fun we had, what tough things we made it through, etc.  Reminds me of how much I have to be thankful for!

It is also when I look at ways to improve for the next year.  I know some people feel that resolutions are a waste of time or silly.  However, I LOVE them!  It is always a great motivator for me.  I always have getting physically and mentally fit at the top of my list.  I am an active person.  If I let myself go too much, then I totally lose energy and I start to feel down.  So, for me, staying physically fit is the way that I stay mentally fit as well.

As a busy Single Mom of 3 kids, and a full time student (and a  blogger!) it really does take goal planning to be able to make time to stay fit.  I have exercise tapes that I love.  The top reason I love them is that I can fit it into my schedule, in my home, for free!

This year I have been really bogged down and have let this goal slip out of my priorities.  So, I’m jumping back on the band wagon to get physically and mentally fit!  I have already scheduled in more hikes and bike riding with my kids!  Those are activities that I love, are great family time, and will get all of us physically fit.  I am a huge multi-tasker so any time I can find an activity to achieve more than one goal, I am all for it! Winking smile  I am also going to think through anything else that could be a time saver for me, but still help me work towards my goal of getting physically fit!  Something interesting that I have looked into are using Easy Tones, (Visit the Official site) which are stylish, comfortable, and tone your body.  They are supposed to be doing extra work for you, while you are doing your day-to-day errands or chores.  Sounds like a win-win for me (it’s all about the multi-tasking!).

What are easy ways that you fit staying physically fit into your busy lives?  I would love any and all tips and tricks here!!

Leave a comment here for an entry into a random drawing for a chance to win a $100 gift card from Reebok (Visit the Official site) and BlogHer.

I suggest that you don't keep unhealthy or junk foods in your home. At my home, If we want to eat fast food or fattening foods we go out, and it's an occaisional treat.

With two kids playing sports, I stay busy driving back and forth (we live in a rural area and they need transportation for every thing they do). Ironically, when I get the most exercise is when I'm running around (walking during half-time maybe) and when I'm at work. When I'm at home, I spend most of my time on the computer. Trying to change that this year. Wish me luck.
Thanks for the giveaway.
Happy New Year!

one or twice a week I crank up the ipod and dance while making dinner. The Hubbie thinks is a riot, but it fun way to squeeze in 20 minutes of exercise

I plan to get out and play more with my kids!

I wish I had tips to share, but this is one battle I have yet to win. I'm still trying to come fit and be consistent with an exercise program. I never give up though.

I used to work late--every night I would be lucky to get away by 8:00--and then I was too tired to exorcise--so I started walking to work--I no longer needed coffee in the morning the walk woke me up--and I had to leave by 6:00 so I don't have to walk in the dark. I don't stay so late and on the walk home I get the office out of my system and I feel great.

Im going to start walking my boxer in the mornings before I go to school-it will make him happy and will also help me get some exercise in!!

mail4rosey said...

Do your workout first thing in the morning (before you do ANYTHING else) and it will set the tone for the rest of the day. Once you do it a couple of times, you actually start to crave it, and it's just fantastic how soon you'll start to feel and then see results.

We recently got a gaming system for our TV and I try to get up and move with my kids during play as much as I can. It keeps me involved with them and helps me stay active.

I exercise first thing when I come home from work, I figure that I can find 20-30 minutes every evening if I trick my mind into the fact that its still part of my daily job. I know sounds silly but it works for me.

I plan on making 2011 a healthier year by exercising three times a week (I joined a zumba class) and by getting more sleep (at least 7 hours each weeknight)! :)

Are there really any easy ways? I think the best things to do are things you enjoy like taking your dog for a walk, eating small meals/snacks/on small dishes, stuff like that :D

I have pretty busy workdays, so I'll try to squeeze in some exercise during my lunch hour - for example, I'll often walk a good ten or twelve blocks to a lunch spot to pick up a light meal or even head to the company's gym for a nice 30-minute workout. If that's not possible, I just make myself go to bed 30 minutes earlier so I can wake up and get in a morning run or workout to start out the day. It's all about finding or creating the time!
