Congratulations to the winner of this post, Lucky # 71: vmkids
This is sponsored content from BlogHer and Olay.
Wow, so many comments on the last Olay Review! I’m so surprised to hear everyone’s responses. I am not the kind of person that notices details. I see the person, but don’t usually notice anyone’s skin. But so many of you responded that you are having issues too. I don’t know why this surprised me so much, but it did! It actually makes me feel so much better! This is sponsored content from BlogHer and Olay.
OK so this time around I will tell you when I first started noticing that my skin was changing. I was out to dinner with my extended family. All of the siblings were there and we were just having a ball. I mentioned that I had been noticing some dryness on one spot of my face. I couldn’t figure out what it was from. My siblings all laughed and told me it was an age spot!
WHAT!?
Are you with me on this one? At 30, I was not prepared to hear that I would be seeing signs of aging on my face yet.
Just so you know, my siblings are all older than me so their laughing was not to be mean. They thought it was silly that I didn’t know what it was, and even more than that they were happy I had joined their aging woes!
OK now we are a few more years into these issues. My age spots are not just one dry spot on my face. There are more and they are growing and they are more of a discoloring on my face.
I already have lots of freckles (which I love), isn’t that enough color variation for my face?!
I guess now is the time to kick my butt into gear in having a beauty routine. Up until now, I will admit that I have not had one. I am one of those lucky people that did not (and does not) get acne. I have always had the occasional pimple but that is it. I never even washed my face other than in the shower.
I am really noticing lots of color variation on my face as well as dryness (I used to have slightly oily skin). I know this is all coming about due to getting further and further away from my 20s. ;(
I don’t know what my face has against my 30s but I’m guessing it has something to do with the years of sports out in the sun. Growing up we did not wear sunscreen. Yeah, I’m thinking that has a lot to do with the changes I am seeing in my skin.
I guess when it comes down to it, I feel like my face looks older than I feel it should.
One of the things that I am excited about with the Olay product that I am trying out is it’s claim of, “Gentle Exfoliation that smoothes and evens skin texture”. I never thought a lot about my skin texture before, until now.
I also must admit that I feel somewhat silly talking about aging skin. After all, I am only in my early 30s! However, I guess my thought is that if I don’t start taking better care of my skin now, when I really am older it is going to be too late to do something about it.
When did you first start taking better care of yourself? What is your daily beauty routine? What are your favorite products?

I don't have a routine other than washing my face in the am and pm. Guess since I'm gonna be 35 in Jan, I better get a bit more serious (less lazy) about it!

I started thinking about my facial skin at about 20. I lived in the desert and was concerned about wrinkling early. Believe it or not, I used Vaseline, which worked very well. I use a Tea Tree soap to wash my face.
Most days I'm lucky to get my face washed before bed and moisturizer on in the morning. But, now that I'm in my 30's, I really should start a more reliable routine!
REALLY need to start a good "face" routine. It's way too easy to rush through getting ready in the mornings and then when it's time for bed it's hard to take the extra couple minutes. Sounds like a great new years resolution.
I have such a long beauty routine I think I’m embarrassed. Everyday I brush and floss my teeth and use mouthwash, (true story) I wash my face with Neutrogena every morning, then I apply Aveeno moisturizer, and a foundation Primer, then foundation and concealer, powder, eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lipgloss. Phew! I guess you could say I’m not a natural beauty!
would love to win.
for first time in years i am going tomorrow for a facial thingy my eye doctor game me as a gift. :p
is this a sign i will get lucky w olay? lol
I'm 45 and have been taking EXCEPTIONAL care of my skin since puberty! I'm oily and had terrible problems with acne so I learned to have a routine early! I always clean my face before bed and never forget to use moisturizer! My friends all tell me I look 10 years younger than I actually am and I know it is because I have only missed a handful of nights of my routine in over 30 years. Sunscreen is a must too. One good tip I can give, don't forget your neck and upper chest. They need all the help they can get too!
I am 32 and treated my skin horrible until about the last 8 years. I loved the sun WAY too much. Know I wear sunscreen a lot. My hubby and I enjoy Mary Kay Velocity face products!

i am turning 25 next year. i am a mother to 3 kids, all under the age of five. yep. no routine here. who has time! i will try to at least wash my face three days of the week- four if i am lucky. I think it is TIME to start taking care of my skin. i am noticing lots of uneven tones, dark circles :( eekkk....
Great giveaway and sorry about the age spot. I have some dark skin spots that I am going to see if this will help.
I started taking better of my skin when I was in my 30's and noticed some fine lines around my eyes. Not I use a moinsturizer ever day.

Routine's are definitely hard to come by, especially with the unpredictability that comes along with children. Having 2 kids under 3, I rarely have time for myself. I try to put on make-up most days but sometimes it's just not possible!

My pathetic routine has been quited limited since babe 2- I brush my teeth and usually brush my hair, but thats all I get around to daily. I shower when I can, and take a "princess shower" (what its called in my house when no one comes in to bother me) about once a week so I can shave my legs and put on lotion after!

I'm kind of lazy when it comes to taking care of myself. I shower every day and shampoo, towel dry and brush through my hair. I then put on a little eye shadow and mascara. That's the extent of my daily preparation. I have sensitive skin so I stay away from most lotions, perfumes, etc.

I have oily skin, so my routine is to wash my face, apply copious amounts of moisturizer (living in the upper midwest, my skin both flakes AND shines in the winter!), and spot treat with salicylic acid. And if I'm going out, I put on makeup!
I was trapped in bed for almost all of my 30s. It didn't occur to me that I maybe should take better care of my skin until after I occasionally started being able to see people in person so I didn't start until after I'd turned 40.
I moisturize at least every evening, and my favorite product is actually cocoa butter.

I'm 33 and any beauty regimen is out of the question with these little monkeys running around my house. Maybe in a few years when I have more than 10 minutes to myself I'll get something figured out.
It was probably college before I really did a lot as far as beauty goes every day.
My routine is to work out, then shower, dry my hair, do my makeup. On my days off, I fix toenail polish, exfoliate with a scrub, etc.
A favorite product? Any kind of heat protectant spray for my hair. I put it on before drying my hair, and it makes it SO SOFT and really keeps it healthy.
I still really don't take care of my looks--although I do my health! I shower, brush teeth, moisturize, brush hair in the AM...that's about it!

I never used a moisturizer until I was in my 30's. Now that I am in my late 40's I find that I am using under eye cream, daily moisturizer with sunscreen and night time moisturizer. I still have yet to find any product that I think does a great job eliminating wrinkles or age spots.

I MOISTURIZE DAILY (AND NGHTLY TOO) AN USE CONCEALER AND WEAR MY MASCARA EVERY DAY...I WILLL NOT WALK OUT THE DOOR UNTIL I HAVE AT LEAST MASCARA ON :)
I wash my face and moisturize both morning and night and I always use sunscreen. I try to drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest. I never go to sleep with my makeup on and I take my vitamins. My makeup consists of mineral makeup, blush, eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss--and I won't even answer the door without them.

I have very fair skin so I've had to take care of it for a long time. I use an exfoliating scrub every day and moisturize my face twice a day.
I just turned 51 a few days ago and I STILL get lots of positive comments on how beautiful my skin is. I wash with my homemade soap (for sale on my blog), which leaves my skin feeling like I had used moisturizer already! Most other soaps are far too harsh and leave your skin feeling dry and needing to use creams and lotions.
I also DO NOT use sunscreen. Yes, you read that right! Vitamin D levels are chronically low today. GET YOUR LEVELS CHECKED TODAY! I do not "sunbathe" either.
And then I also eliminated all hydrogenated oils from our diet as well as all pre-processed food.

I started taking more care of myself just before I hit 30. I am sure to use moisturizer every day and ALWAYS use sunscreen!

I moisturize every day and I'm 90% happy with my skin. But I wish I could get reduce the size of my pores without any drying, complicated methods or doctors visits.

i started really taking care of my skin in my mid twenties I mmousturize with aveeno intime@myself.com
I started taking better care of myself when I hit my thirties, when I realized that I couldn't get away with being lax about moisturizing and maintenance. My daily beauty routine consists of moisturizing and going through an elaborate regime for shaving that involves opening the pores with steam and hot towels, applying moisturizing shaving gel, and using a straight razor for the closest shave. I also have begun using leave-in conditioner to increase the health of my hair. Beyond that, my routine involves the usual suspects of brushing/flossing, tweezing, and trimming nails when necessary.

When my kids got old enough to not need me quite so much is when I started to have the time to care for myself more. So, it wasn't until I was about 30 - just when you need it!

I didn't start taking better care of my skin until I hit my 30's. I now fight adult acne so I use am/pm facial washes followed by an oil free moisturizer.

I am trying to find my own routine. I have some Mary Kay products that i really like.
Think I'll try keeping care of myself TOMORROW---if I have time.
Do like Revlon Color-Stay lipstick.
I've started noticing more issues with my skin, especially on my face, since I've been in my 40s. I haven't really changed my routine, though, which is a quick wash with cool water twice a day.
More than ever now at 55 since my skin has changed. I have to exercise and I always style my hiar and do makeup every day. It is drier now so I moisturize.

I really try for a routine, but i seem to be eclectic..some days I moisturize, but some I just feel like it isn't needed.
Looks like a fantastic product. I started wearing spf in my teens. msmith572@yahoo.com

I have been moisturizing my face since I was in high school and I first thought about it...Of course you don't want to wait until you see damage because then it's too late to try and prevent some of it....I moisturize my face and neck everyday without fail and even tho I've done some bad things to my skin, I still look decent and younger :D Yeah!
